Short links and dynamic QR codes
How to create short URLs with click tracking and auto-generated QR codes.
Short links let you create clean, branded URLs that redirect to any destination. Each link tracks clicks and comes with an auto-generated QR code you can use in print materials.
What you will learn
- How to create a short link
- How to track clicks
- How to use the dynamic QR code
Creating a short link
- Go to Short Links in the sidebar
- Click Create
- Enter the destination URL (where you want the link to point)
- Set a custom slug (the part after your domain, e.g.,
pmone.id/register) - Click Save
The system checks that your slug is not already taken before saving.
Click tracking
Each short link records every click with a timestamp. Open a short link to see its click history and total count.
Dynamic QR codes
Every short link gets a QR code automatically. The QR code points to the short link, not directly to the destination. This means you can change where the link goes without reprinting the QR code.
To download the QR code, open the short link detail page and click the download button next to the QR code preview.
Importing and exporting
Use Import to create many short links at once from a spreadsheet. Use Export to download your link list with click counts.
Deleting and restoring
Delete a short link to deactivate it. Deleted links go to the trash for recovery, or you can permanently delete them.
Common questions
Q: What happens when someone visits a deleted short link?
They get a 404 page. The link stops redirecting once deleted.
Q: Can I see where clicks come from?
The system logs click timestamps. Detailed referrer or geography data depends on your analytics setup.
